The ATR 72-600 is the flagship and most produced ATR model currently in service. Entering service in 2011, it features a fully digital glass cockpit, advanced avionics suite, improved PW127M engines, and extensive use of modern systems to reduce pilot workload and maintenance costs.
It can seat between about 68 and 78 passengers, depending on layout, making it one of the highest-capacity turboprop airliners in the world. The cabin includes larger overhead bins, quieter interiors, LED lighting, and a more spacious feel compared to earlier versions.
With a typical range of around 1,500 km and excellent fuel efficiency, the ATR 72-600 is widely used for regional connectivity, island hopping, and short-haul routes, especially where jets would be less economical. It is also valued for its low carbon emissions per seat.
